Nioh only pays out at shrines. Amrita, the game's experience, turns into levels when you rest at one, and when you die it stays at your grave with your Guardian Spirit. Die again on the way back and it is gone. Gold runs out just as fast at the blacksmith, and some of the rarest materials sit in Twilight Missions that rotate every day.

A Level 400 Samurai With Amrita To Spare
Levels in Nioh go into eight stats: Body, Heart, Stamina, Strength, Skill, Dexterity, Magic and Spirit. At level 400 your build is already deep, and max Amrita keeps every shrine visit productive. Want a different spread? Max gold pays for a Book of Reincarnation, the blacksmith item that resets your stats and costs more every time you buy one.
Skill points are maxed in all three trees. Samurai points buy weapon techniques for each stance. Ninja points buy ninjutsu like shuriken and powders, and Onmyo points buy talismans and elemental magic. The first stage of the Dojo is already complete, and that is where many of those skills unlock.
Titles, Glory And Senji Tome's Forge
Titles are Nioh's reputation system. Finishing objectives like 250 human kills with a sword earns reputation, which turns into Agyo or Ungyo points. In the Prestige Summary those points become permanent bonuses. Agyo covers Amrita earned, Life, Luck and Onmyo Magic Power. Ungyo covers gold earned, item drop rate, Ki and Ninjutsu Power. The save has both sides maxed.
The Hidden Teahouse normally opens after Spider Nest Castle, and it trades in Glory, the currency Revenants pay out. Here it is unlocked with max Glory. That buys disguises, rare weapons and armor, gestures and items without farming bloody graves.
Max gold and max blacksmith materials cover forging, Soul Matching and Refashion at Senji Tome's shop. Blacksmith prestige is maxed too. In Nioh that standing is Patronage, earned by spending with Tome, and it pays out as perks like Sell Price Markup and Purchase Price Discount. Your storage also holds the maximum of Elixirs. You carry eight, or eleven with the Medicine Man skill, and resting at a shrine tops you up from storage.
Why The Nioh Platinum Runs To 80 Hours And Beyond
Trophy guides put it at around 80 hours, and up to 150 if the endgame fights take you a while. No trophy is missable, and none of them needs other players. The list is simply long.
Samurai of Legend, one of only two golds, wants every main mission, side mission and Twilight Mission. Twilight Missions rotate daily, and two endgame side missions, A Meeting on the Other Shore and The Two Kings: Nioh, send two bosses at you at once. Then there are the mystic arts. Each of the sword, dual swords, spear, axe and kusarigama needs 500,000 proficiency before its Dojo mission unlocks. Ninjutsu and Onmyo Magic need 20 points of Dexterity and Magic.
The blacksmith trophies are the real grind. Regular Smith Customer asks for 60 requests at the forge, which works out to around 20 million gold spent. Master of Quality wants every top-grade material, from the Orochi Scale on a replay of The Demon King Revealed to the Ogress Claw from a Twilight Mission. The collectibles add 150 Kodama, 20 hot springs, 22 Guardian Spirits, 40 gestures and 30 dung balls for Ryunoshin.
