Far Cry Primal strips the series back to 10,000 BC. Takkar starts with nothing, and his abilities come from XP, one skill point at a time. Those skills are spread across the specialists you bring home, from Sayla's gathering to Tensay's beast taming, and each tree opens when you build that specialist's hut in the Wenja village.

Skill Points, Specialists And Huts
Primal splits its skills by teacher. Takkar's own tree covers survival, with extra health bars up to six and Sprint Forever. Sayla teaches gathering and skinning, Jayma hunting and arrow crafting, Karoosh fighting and Wogah weapon crafting. Later, Dah adds Udam skills like Melee Resistance and Roshani adds Izila skills like Fire Resistance.
Tensay's Beast Master tree is the one most players chase. Tame Canines is free, Tame Wildcats brings leopards, jaguars and cave lions, and Tame Apex Predators unlocks sabretooth tigers and brown bears once you have tamed five beasts. Tame Cunning Beasts needs eight. The owl skills live here too, including Weapon Drop, which lets your owl drop sting, berserk and fire bombs.
With a bank of maxed skill points, the main thing between you and a skill is the specialist and their hut. Expert Wenja, a silver trophy, asks you to learn every skill in the game.
Huts Still Run On Materials
Building and upgrading huts takes wood, stone, clay, reeds and animal hides gathered across Oros, and so do better clubs, spears and bows. Each new hut also pays out XP and opens new crafting options. Real Estate Baron wants every hut upgrade, and Subdivisions wants a village of 20 Wenja.
The Primal Platinum
Trophy guides rate it 2/10 at around 21-25 hours. There is no multiplayer, nothing is missable, and difficulty doesn't matter. The two golds are Krati, Krati, Krati, for stealing the Izila mask of Krati, and Expansion, which wants every outpost captured. Conquest wants every fort, Menagerie wants 7 of the 17 tameable beasts, and Cave Hoarder needs 80 of the 184 collectibles.
About 15 trophies are kill counts with specific tools: 100 kills each with the club, the spear and the bow, 50 with fire and 10 with sting bombs, among others. The Beast Master hunts for the bloodfang sabretooth, the great scar bear, the snowblood wolf and the bloodtusk mammoth each carry a trophy. Early guides warned that those hunts could fail to unlock, so they were worth a backup save.
The oddest one is Mark 4 Wenja: a cave in the frozen east hides the purple skeleton of a blood dragon. Our team unlocks all 38 bronze, 10 silver and 2 gold trophies on your account, then Apex Predator itself, in 2-24 hours.
