How to Unlock Pyroclast in MW4

Pyroclast is tied to Weapon Prestige rather than to player rank or the Multiplayer mastery ladder. The starting sequence is straightforward:

1. Choose the weapon whose Pyroclast progression you want to advance.
2. Use that weapon to earn Weapon XP in Multiplayer or DMZ until it reaches its maximum level.
3. Enter the optional Weapon Prestige progression for that weapon.
4. Continue through the weapon's Prestige rewards, beginning with Pyroclast.

Entering Weapon Prestige resets the weapon's level and relocks its ordinary attachments. Apex Attachments and Weapon Blueprint Attachments are exceptions. Shared Attachments already available on other weapons are not relocked, and previously earned camos, reticles, blueprints, decals, stickers and accessories remain yours.

Classic vs Regular Prestige: Which Gets the Pyroclast Camos?

Neither player Prestige choice determines Pyroclast. Classic and Regular Prestige are two options for restarting player-level progression. Classic resets level-related unlocks and Create-a-Class progress while granting its own benefits. Regular restarts player progression while retaining those unlocks. Neither is the Weapon Prestige system that earns this camo.

Weapon Prestige is selected separately when a particular weapon reaches its maximum level. Its reset affects that weapon's level and attachments, subject to the exceptions above. You do not need to enter Classic player Prestige, reach player Prestige Master or select Regular Prestige to start the Pyroclast weapon path.

Pyroclast Requirement

Pyroclast is the opening Weapon Prestige camo. Reach a weapon’s maximum level and select Weapon Prestige to begin its separate reward progression. The weapon resets its level and most attachment unlocks, but previously earned camos and customization remain available.

Pyroclast is different from Gold, Platinum, Harmonic Break and Divergence, which belong to the Completionist sequence. It is also different from the three mode-specific Mastery camos for Multiplayer, DMZ and Warzone.

How to Reach Prestige Faster

Focus on Weapon XP for the weapon you actually want to Prestige. Using another weapon does not advance this weapon’s own Prestige levels. Double Weapon XP Tokens can help you progress through weapon levels when available.

Plan for the attachment reset before entering Weapon Prestige. Camos and other cosmetics stay unlocked, but ordinary attachments must be earned again on that weapon. Apex and blueprint attachments remain available, and shared attachments unlocked on other weapons are unaffected.

The Four Pyroclast Camos

Pyroclast is one evolving Weapon Prestige camo with four named forms, rather than four rewards from player Prestige:

1. Pyroclast: the opening form of Weapon Prestige.
2. Pyroclast Terminus: the second variant, also referred to as Pyroclast Verge.
3. Pyroclast Scatter: a later variant earned during Weapon Prestige Master.
4. Pyroclast Cascade: the final variant in the announced sequence.
