How to Unlock Polyatomic Reforged in MW4
Polyatomic Reforged cannot be started by skipping the first Multiplayer mastery tier. Follow the chain in order:
- Level weapons and progress through their Military camo unlocks.
- Complete the Special challenges, which adjust to the mode you play.
- Finish the Completionist sequence of Gold, Platinum, Harmonic Break and Divergence.
- Complete Mercurial Drift to open Polyatomic Reforged.
- Complete the Polyatomic Reforged Multiplayer challenge itself.
Gold and Platinum are real MW4 Completionist rewards, not replacements for the three Multiplayer Mastery tiers.
Polyatomic Reforged Requirement
Completing Mercurial Drift opens the Polyatomic Reforged challenge. Follow its objective in Gunsmith to earn the second Multiplayer mastery camo. The first-tier completion grants access to the new challenge rather than automatically awarding Polyatomic Reforged.
Track the prerequisite and current mastery stage separately, especially when working across multiple weapons.

Polyatomic (MWII) vs Polyatomic Reforged (MW4)
Polyatomic in Modern Warfare II was a mastery camo remembered for its dark purple geometric finish. MW4's Polyatomic Reforged revisits that identity with a brighter purple-and-white geometric appearance. They are related by name and design, not by an automatic shared unlock.
Owning MWII Polyatomic does not grant Polyatomic Reforged. MW4 uses its own Military, Special, Completionist and Mastery path, so an old MWII challenge guide cannot describe the new requirement. Separately, promotional universal camos such as Moonlit Pearl and Gilded Ruin have specific crossover eligibility. Those exceptions are not transfers of old mastery progress.
Fastest Way to Unlock Polyatomic Reforged
Finish the shared Completionist chain and Mercurial Drift before switching your focus to Polyatomic Reforged. Use its active Gunsmith challenge to decide what you need to do in a match instead of following an older MWII Polyatomic strategy.
The key distinction is order: a weapon at the first Multiplayer mastery stage is still working toward the challenge that opens the second.

What Comes After: Orion Reforged
Completing Polyatomic Reforged opens Orion Reforged, the third and final Multiplayer mastery challenge. Reaching the second camo is not the same as earning the last one. For the entire Multiplayer ladder alongside the DMZ and Warzone alternatives, use the mastery-camo hub.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Polyatomic Reforged the same as MWII Polyatomic?
No. Polyatomic Reforged is MW4's redesigned version and must be earned through MW4's own camo progression.
Do I keep Polyatomic from MWII in MW4?
The old Polyatomic unlock does not give you Polyatomic Reforged in MW4. Promotional crossover camos are separate rewards with their own eligibility.
What do I need before Polyatomic Reforged?
Complete the shared camo progression through Divergence and then finish Mercurial Drift. That unlocks the Polyatomic Reforged Multiplayer Mastery challenge.
