How to Unlock Mercurial Drift in MW4

Mercurial Drift starts the Multiplayer mastery ladder, but it does not replace the Completionist camos that come before it. The route is:

1. Level your weapon to unlock its Military camos.
2. Complete the Special camo challenges associated with your weapon.
3. Work through Gold, Platinum, Harmonic Break and Divergence in the Completionist chain.
4. Open the Mercurial Drift Multiplayer Mastery challenge after earning Divergence.
5. Complete that challenge to unlock Mercurial Drift.

What Is the MW4 Camo Track?

Call of Duty describes MW4 as having a single weapon-camo grind shared across modes. Military camos unlock through weapon leveling. Special camos use combat challenges that adjust to the mode being played, and completed Special camos enter a shared pool.

After Military and Special comes the separate Completionist chain. Gold is in MW4, followed by Platinum, Harmonic Break and Divergence. Only then do the mode-specific Mastery challenges begin. See the MW4 mastery-camo hub for the other tracks.

Mercurial Drift Requirement and Weapons

Divergence opens the Mercurial Drift Multiplayer Mastery challenge. Select the camo in Gunsmith to see its combat objective and track your progress. Mercurial Drift is earned after completing that challenge, not simply by equipping Divergence.

Military and Special camos, followed by the Completionist chain, provide the foundation for the separate Multiplayer mastery ladder.

Fastest Way to Get Mercurial Drift

Start with the shared camo progression, then focus on Mercurial Drift as soon as its Mastery challenge opens. Following the active Gunsmith objective keeps your matches focused on the stage you can actually complete.

DMZ early access begins October 20 for digital preorders. Weapon levels, attachments and camos earned there carry into Multiplayer at the October 23 full release. That makes early access useful for preparing the shared camo foundation.

What Mercurial Drift Unlocks Next

Finishing the Mercurial Drift challenge opens Polyatomic Reforged, the second Multiplayer mastery challenge. After Polyatomic Reforged comes Orion Reforged, the final Multiplayer tier. The later camos have their own challenges, so reaching Mercurial Drift is an opening step rather than the end of the chain.

Mercurial Drift vs Chiral, Parallax and Pyroclast

These camos belong to different progression paths:

• Chiral: the first DMZ mastery camo.
• Parallax: the first Warzone mastery camo, available with Season 1.
• Pyroclast: part of Weapon Prestige, not Player Prestige or the Multiplayer mastery ladder.
