With a Trace Quest in ARC Raiders – Location, Mission Guide
Note: This guide shows how to complete the ARC Raiders Keeping the Memory quest by finding the missing helmet at Wreckage in Formicai Hills and placing it on the memorial pole. It does not cover builds, farming routes, or other quests.

Keeping the Memory is a Celeste quest in ARC Raiders that can feel confusing the first time you run it. The helmet is not sitting in open view, and the quest is tagged In One Round.

This affects players who reach Wreckage, search the Baron wreck, and still cannot find the interaction. It also affects players who get knocked out before placing the helmet and realize nothing saved.

Below, you will get the exact route, the exact object to interact with, and the exact memorial pole to use. If you are looking for other Dam Battlegrounds content, it is not included here.

Keeping The Memory Quest Forks

Use these quick forks before you run across the whole map.

  • If Keeping the Memory is not in your active quest list: talk to Celeste in Speranza and check your progression. The quest unlocks after Straight Record.
  • If you loaded into a different map: leave and queue Dam Battlegrounds. Keeping the Memory objectives are tied to Dam Battlegrounds.
  • If you can pick up the helmet but cannot place it: go to Keeping the Memory Memorial Bug.
  • If you got knocked out before placing the helmet: go to Keeping the Memory One Round Reset.

Keeping The Memory Wreckage Location

Purpose: Diagnostic plus route. This gets you to the correct POI so the quest can progress.

  1. Start a raid on Dam Battlegrounds with Keeping the Memory active.
  2. Open your map and look for the POI named Wreckage.
  3. Travel to Wreckage on the southern side of Dam Battlegrounds (often described as southeast).
  4. Move down into the lowest part of the crash site near the collapsed Baron body.
What You Should Notice: You are at Wreckage in Formicai Hills, and the first objective can tick after you reach the wreck area.
Stop Here If Fixed: If your objective updated after reaching Wreckage, move to the next section. If it did not, double-check you are on Dam Battlegrounds and that Keeping the Memory is active.

Keeping The Memory Helmet Location

Purpose: Root cause fix. The helmet is hidden in an interactable plant near the Baron wreck, not on the metal itself.

  1. Stand at ground level near the collapsed Baron body at Wreckage.
  2. Look for a small plant close to torn metal near the wreck.
  3. Walk up to the plant until you see an interaction prompt.
  4. Interact with the plant to reveal the helmet.
  5. Pick up the helmet if it drops onto the ground.
What You Should Notice: The objective “Search for the missing helmet” completes, and the quest tracker points you toward the memorial.
Stop Here If Fixed: If the quest updated after you picked up the helmet, do not leave Wreckage. Go straight to the memorial pole next.

Keeping The Memory Memorial Pole

Purpose: Root cause fix. This is the only interaction that completes “Return the helmet to the memorial.”

  1. Stay in the Wreckage area after you pick up the helmet.
  2. Look for a single metal pole sticking out of the ground nearby.
  3. Walk up to the pole until you see the blue holographic helmet interaction prompt.
  4. Interact to place the helmet on the memorial pole.
What You Should Notice: The final objective completes in the same raid. At this point, many guides report you can extract or even get knocked out and still receive the quest rewards, but extracting is still the safest choice for your loot.
Stop Here If Fixed: If all Keeping the Memory objectives show completed, stop troubleshooting. Extract when you are ready.

Keeping The Memory Memorial Bug

Purpose: Symptom reducer. Some players report the memorial pole already has a helmet placed, which can block the interaction for that raid.

  1. Confirm you have the helmet in-hand and you are at the correct memorial pole with the blue icon.
  2. If the pole already has a helmet and no prompt appears, do not keep waiting in the open.
  3. Extract if you can, or accept the knock out if you must.
  4. Start a new Dam Battlegrounds raid and go to Wreckage early.
What You Should Notice: In a fresh raid, the memorial pole is interactable again and you can place the helmet normally.
Stop Here If Fixed: If the pole interaction works in your next raid, finish the placement and stop here.

Keeping The Memory One Round Reset

Purpose: Root cause explanation. Keeping the Memory is tagged In One Round, so getting knocked out before placing the helmet means you redo the full chain.

  1. Queue a new raid on Dam Battlegrounds.
  2. Go straight to Wreckage instead of looting on the way.
  3. Pick up the helmet from the small plant near the Baron wreck.
  4. Place the helmet on the memorial pole immediately.
What You Should Notice: All three objectives complete in the same raid without relying on any progress from previous runs.
Stop Here If Fixed: Once the memorial placement completes, stop and decide whether you want to extract or keep farming.
